Meet Matt

A conservative Republican born in Gainesville, Ga., Matt Dubnik attended Lakeview Academy and received his Bachelor of Science in management and information technology from Georgia Institute of Technology. After working as an information security specialist for Siemens Energy and Automation, Dubnik transitioned his career to nonprofit fundraising, serving as a regional director for Ducks Unlimited where he was responsible for leading more than 500 volunteers statewide in their efforts to raise nearly $2M annually for wetland conservation efforts. In 2009 he joined a digital marketing agency in Gainesville, where he later became a Partner and Vice President. Since 2014, he has served as the Chief Engagement Officer of Forum Communications, a full service strategic marketing agency focused on helping businesses find their voice in a crowded marketplace.

Dubnik, a small business owner, father, husband and community leader, said the decision to serve Gainesville Hall County was not reached lightly. “I’ve wanted to serve our community in this capacity since I was a young adult,” Dubnik said.

Dubnik has continued his involvement with Ducks Unlimited as a volunteer serving as an area chairman, state campaign chair, state sponsor chairman, and will take over as state chairman in July 2018. He founded North Georgia Hunting Retriever Club, an organization for outdoor enthusiasts, which also provides service dogs to disabled veterans. He currently serves as the local chairman of the Georgia Tech Scholarship committee helping to select local and statewide finalists for two of the school’s highest honor scholarships. He is also a deacon at his church, First Baptist Church of Gainesville, where he and his family are members.

He currently serves on the Junior Achievement Board of Directors, , Georgia Mountain Food Bank Harvesters Club member, and recently served on the ITNLanier Board of Directors, the GHCC marketing committee, is a Leadership Hall County graduate, and was a member and officer of the Gainesville Jaycees. 

Dubnik previously served as the marketing chairman of Vision 2030 of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce (GHCC), on the United Way of Hall County executive search committee, and the Lakeview Academy auction committee and capital campaign committee. 

Matt resides in Gainesville with his wife, Katie, sons, James, Davis, and chocolate lab, Burton.
