Meet Matt

It has been my honor to serve as your State Representative since 2017. Born right here in Gainesville, I am a conservative Republican, small business owner, father, husband and someone who is active in my community. I have had a desire to serve my community since I was a young boy. That’s why my responsibility as a public servant for Gainesville and Hall County is not one I take lightly.

My wife Katie and I call Gainesville home. We are raising our family here, just as our parents raised us in this community. We have strong roots here as we believe it is our job to give back to our community more than it gives to us.

While in the House of Representatives, I have been recognized by my peers, by “watchdog groups” and by various industry associations as a leader on sound conservative policy. My job is to represent you, and thus, I have put you and your family at the forefront of my mind in each decision I make, bringing a common-sense approach to deliver real results that are felt by all.

I pledge to continue to work tirelessly as your State Representative, so that all Georgians have the chance to live a happy and fulfilled life. It would be my honor to continue serving you in the Georgia House of Representatives, and I humbly ask for your vote during the upcoming election on November 6th.

I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003, and have seen my career span two areas: professional fundraising and marketing. Katie and I are proud members of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, where I also serve as an active deacon. I am the current State Chairman of Georgia Ducks Unlimited; I am a participant in the 2018 Class of Leadership Georgia; I’m a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement; I am a member of the Harvesters Club of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank; I serve as President of North Georgia Hunting Retriever Club; and I’m a member of the Committee of the 2020 Federal Census in Georgia. Previously, I was a member of the Board of Directors of ITN Lanier; the marketing committee of GHCC; I am a 2010 graduate of Leadership Hall; and I was a member and officer of Gainesville Jaycees for seven years.
