Formal Announcement: I will seek re-election to Georgia House of Representatives in 2018

As a Hall County resident, North Georgia native and conservative Republican, I am excited to announce my intent to seek re-election for State House District 29.

As a small business owner, father, husband and current Representative, I want the people of the 29th district to know that it has been my honor and privilege to serve you over the last year. If the good people of Gainesville will allow me, I look forward to two more years under the gold dome.

My areas of interest include continuing to make Georgia the best state to
do business, promoting education to create a strong workforce, meaningful tax reform,
calling attention to the opioid epidemic and continuing to be a vocal advocate of the
Second Amendment.

I currently serve on the Game, Fish & Parks, Higher Education and Interstate Cooperation committees.

I recently held an event where I formally announced my re-election bid. The event, with numerous members of the Georgia General Assembly in attendance, was hosted by Georgia Speaker of the House, David Ralston, and Georgia’s 9th Congressional District Representative, Doug Collins. Ralston said, “Matt is not only a rising star in the Georgia General Assembly, he has demonstrated great professional accomplishment and outstanding community service. I have witnessed firsthand the energy and passion he brings to representing his constituents in the Georgia House of Representatives.”
